Perfectly cast Retro movie theme Wedding Brittany and Stephen May 22nd
Twin Oaks house san Marcos Ca.
This wedding party was cast perfectly for their parts …. they were just that…Ready for a party! With over 20 wedding ceremony attendants all full of youth and beauty it was easy to see why they danced back down the isle for the recessional to( Micheal Frantiand Spearheads) ”Say Hey” I love you! to then all the way into the grand entrance into the tent to (black eyed peas) “I got a feelin”. This is the kinda celebration that could show up on you-tube with thousands of hits. Every single guest (180 of them) were on their feet at the reception, hands clapping and toes tapping the entire night! Young and old Danced the night away. The signature peach Bellini machine kept everyone” just peachie” all night ( Rum/peach schnapps/champain) served in Champagne glasses. It sure helps to have an pro disc Jockey and a great rehearsal the night before.
The theme was Classic movies. Fitting , being that the bride was just as pretty as a picture. Its a Wonderful Life and Casablanka were among the movie stubs for your assigned seating pinned on a decorative picture frame. at intermission(cocktail hour), guests were treated to an apothecary candy jar station inside the parlor of the Schoolhouse and old fashioned popcorn in movie theme retro boxes added to the theme.
They chose warm burgundies (eggplant). L’amour runners that fell to the floor over clean classic white with subtle brocade pattern. The runners added a deep grounding to the white tent and overhead liner and worked very well with the fruitwood chivari chairs to keep the pallet “easy on the eye” for the scale of this wedding.
The father of the bride speech was one of the most tender moments, her father, Dave spoke of how quickly the time goes and that he will always remember tucking his “perfect little daughter” into bed each night by tickling her toes and playing a little game they made up called “pillow for your feetsies”, then they would talk about the coming day. Dave said, now she has a new man in her life and asked him to be sure he tickles her toes each night.
What a fantastic family, a pleasure to work with, and an amazing celebration that took a year tp plan.
And we did it all in One Take! That’s a wrap folks.

Joanne and Maurice
Young love at the old Schoolhouse is a story that will truly inspire… in 7 th grade Maurice had a huge crush on a sweet little girl named Joanne, and after the first kiss they were hooked. The rest seemed to be painted by Rockwell himself.
After Eighteen years together Joanne and Maurice wanted their wedding day to reflect ”A first love ” with fringes of the innocence of old school days and it flowed perfectly withthe Venue ( Twin Oaks schoolhouse circa 1891). For a seating chart, they used an old piece of slate chalkboard they found and lined with tables Aa thru Zz. It seemed as if a teacher had strolled in and written names in chalk just before the wedding.
A vintage typewriter at the entry to the gardens invited guests to type a message for the bride and groom and everyone loved it! Also there was an historic school desk that held a scroll for the guests to sign in.
Their Guest tables had Paper “cootie catchers” with special messages from the bride and groom as favors set on platinum plate chargers with delicate vintage books hand painted in chic white and pink thinly stacked on each guest table. One book on each table was open and folded like a flower with paper letters to inform guests that they were at the correct table. The tables were finished with three eclectic milk glass vases with spring bulb flowers and sweet pea bunches with silver candelabras, all set on pink, and platinum, smooth satin runners over a subtle white brochade table linen.
Mini chalkboards were also sprinkled along the garden pathways with sayings like “Maurice loves Joanne”. A custom gobo light that shown through the chiffon gathered tent liner over head was the silowette of a little boy whisking away a pig-taled girl on his bicycle.
This wedding was darling, and a great reflection of the sweetness of this couple. It was perfect for them, right down to the ringing of the bell in the bell tower at their first kiss as Husband and Wife.
M+J Forever…
