When you enter the gardens at the Twin Oaks House & Garden Estate in San Diego, the first living thing to catch your eye will be the grand California Laurel tree circa 1894. In all the world, these special trees are only native to the coast of California and southwestern Oregon. The estate is so lucky to have this rare beauty adorn its upper lawns. When you come to the Twin Oaks House on a breezy spring day, you will witness a spring snow as the tree’s beautiful, tiny purple flowers rain softly down from its many branches. During the summer, it covers the garden with a gracious canopy of shade. In the fall, its leaves transform into orange, yellow and dark autumn tones that put ideas in your head of sitting by the window in the Twin Oaks Schoolhouse with a hot cup of apple cider! I know this all sounds too pretty to be true but there’s more. Just last week the finishing strands of twinkle lights were hung to complete the long anticipated ever-twinkling tree! Yes, the gorgeous California Laurel tree is now equally as breathtaking at night as it is during the day. The LED twinkle lights cascading from its branches were custom made for the Twin Oaks House & Garden Estate so, dear brides & grooms, there is now one more thing to add to the unique experience of your wedding day. Oh, and in going through the seasons one by one and praising the joy that this tree brings to each one, I forgot to mention winter! What makes the holiday season so bright? A California Laurel all dressed in light.
I had to do it. Rhyming is fun!
