Choosing a wedding coordinatorBelieving in Your Dreams...
Keep your Wedding Dreams a Reality -
connect with your Wedding Planner.

By Karen Anne Sherman, owner of Twin Oaks House & Gardens, a beautiful wedding location in San Marcos, Ca

What is 'believing in your dreams' anyway? It's holding onto your original visions for your ideal day or goal. It's easy to let the stress of all the crazy details in life or the input from outside influences cloud your dreams. If you are sure you love butterflies and daisies, keep that a priority, and don't let go of it for the sake of others.

It's important to connect with your wedding planner right away - this person should feel like a friend when you meet them, and this relationship will prove to be key in the manifestation of your creation of that perfect day.

If you have challenges in dealing with a less-than-friendly family trying to 'help' and is giving you grief, let your wedding planner offer simple suggestions to help work with them. Industry professionals such as vendors and planners understand how emotional a wedding can be-- and due to the fact that the pro is not emotionally involved with the family, they can usually better assist you in dealing with them. Therefore, with the help of a friendly professional wedding planner and outstanding vendors - together you will have your daisies and butterflies, and a wedding day filled with happy moments for everyone. A perfect ending starts with a dream.

Tips on choosing a professional wedding planner:

  • A wedding planner should have at least 3 - 5 years experience in planning weddings and receptions, and should be versed in all cultures and themes.

  • A wedding planner should be open to your ideas, and be willing to step out of their own comfort zone.

  • A wedding planner should be able to work with your theme and still be able to stay within your budget.

  • A wedding planner should be like a friend to you. You should like him/her, and if you don't, and you have a negative gut feeling - don't hire him/her.

  • Remember a wedding planner should be professional, courteous and respectful. Just as an employee represents the company they work for, a wedding planner represents you.
